Daley dives right in!
By John Cushing, February 2024
It’s now just less than six months to go to the Olympic Games and one of the big precursors to the action in Paris - the 2024 World Aquatics Championships - gets underway in Doha this week.
Diving starts us off on Friday February 2nd with two time Olympian Grace Reid competing in the Women’s 1m Springboard at 7am UK time. But there’s a strong team of 13 British divers in action in all, packed full of Olympic, World and European medalists. Six medal winning divers from Fukuoka last year will be competing again - synchro pairings Jack Laugher & Anthony Harding in the 3m Synchro, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix & Lois Toulson in the 10m Synchro and Yasmin Harper & Scarlett Mew Jensen in the 3m Synchro.
Tom Daley makes his return to international action for Britain, the first time since winning two Olympic medals in Tokyo 3 years ago. The 29 year old partners Noah Williams in the 10m synchro after an impressive display at the British Diving Cup in Edinburgh at the end of last year.
